I officially started programming with Visual Basic .NET. It's actually not so hard, since it doesn't require you to write out a bunch of code. Although you do have to make parameters to do actions (Such as an OK or Exit button) it really isn't so tough to do. Nonetheless, I'm learning out of a book (Beginning VBnet by Wrox [Wiley]) so it is going smoothly. Now I have to start working with algorithms and do more than a simple app saying "Hi, (your name here), welcome to my funny little window". I may have an executable video game trivia game here in the future. Who knows? I'll have to make sure not to make it too complicated otherwise I'll probably screw it up and leave a nice big security hole. Anyway, it's pretty cool and is the true place to start if you want to begin programming. You can also try it out (The "Express Edtion", which is basically a 30 day trial) to see if you care. Just note that you can't learn with just the app, as far as I know, so you'll have to find a tutorial online. Which shouldn't be a problem, by the way.

 

My birthday. Wee! It was awesome. On the 20th, we actually did the "festivities". Presents, sweets, grandparents... I got some cool stuff including RvB Season 4 and a really nice chair to go in my room. The following day, I finally realized that I can't eat greasy foods anymore. We went to the Rainforest Cafe - AKA the coolest restaurant evar. I ate a whole plate of Calamari. (It's fried squid. Get over it, you weenies.) Before that, though, we went to the Museum of Flight. Nothing was really new, but the place still rocks. I personally like the World War 2 exhibit. It was actually made in a real hangar. :) Then the next day was probably the best. TEH BDAY PARTY!!! I had my 3 best friends and we went to a huge arcade for about 2 hours, then to Pizza Hut to eat like loggers, then back to my house where we ended up playing Halo for 3 hours.

 

I got 2 new Xbox 360 games - Condemned and Ridge Racer 6. Condemned rocks and RR is... Eh. It's okay, actually. PGR3 is way better, though. Condemned is also very easy to get achievement points on... I have 1010 overall and 500 something are from Condemned alone.

 

Finally... I got an Atari 2600.

 

 

1 joystick, 2 paddles, 2 video command controllers, a system, a faulty power supply, and 12 games... We ended up getting a power supply, though. And guess what? The Atari works! Perfectly! But we had to use a lot of stuff to get it to work. :)

 

Games: Pac-Man, Kool-Aid Man, Chopper Command, Pitfall, Donkey Kong, Pole Position, Q-Bert, Frogger, Dodge 'Em, Space Invaders, Combat!, and Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Nothing much has been going on in my end. My birthday is coming up and so we're just thinking about what we'll do for the party. We'll probably just take a few of my friends and I up to the arcade then just go home and eat pizza/cake and play Xbox 360. Speaking of which. The 360 is awesome. Right now, my favorite games are PGR3 and GRAW. I love the wireless controller. Now that we have the old Xbox in my room, my mom, who is a Sims addict, goes in and plays it almost all the time. I usually hang out and play CS:S on my computer, or play 360 in the living room. Anyway, as you can tell, the site looks much different. Personally, I think it looks stupid. But I guess it's worth it? Maybe. I'm probably going to switch the theme now that the pretty flames are covered. *Head explodes*

 

I'm going to start a new thing on this site... Every Monday I'm going to post a video of my choice. This week: Picard sings and dances.

I just haven't been doing anything lately. I hang out at my house and play Counter-Strike. That's about it.

 

I changed the song to "Before I Forget" by Slipknot. Now, actually listen to the song. They're not evil and they don't scream like idiots. That's the only reason I put this song up here. They're JUST A ROCK BAND. Yes, they have ugly masks. The hit barrels with bats on live shows. But I don't think that's any worse than that of Alice Cooper, Ozzy Osbourne, or KISS.

 

I will change it soon to another song I have chosen, but I want to get this in the open.

 

 

 

Woot, we're filling up our new pool. It's like, 8' diameter and about 2.5' deep. Heh, it came with an instructional DVD. "How to blow up the pool"

 

Oh, and it looks like the guys at MSN have fixed the site. Woot to that.

 

PS: I got Battlefield 1942 Complete. Didn't get to play it yet, though. I'll let you know when I get a chance. Which is after I play in the pool. ^_^

I think that MSN Spaces is having some problems right now. As you can see, some lists aren't showing up correctly and such. The errors should be ironed out soon.

I woke up early today, finished half of my breakfast, and realized I had to go to the dentist today. I rushed to the office expecting an easy checkup, since I didn't notice any problems, just to get screwed.

 

A: The idiot glued my teeth together.
B: I'm not allowed to use my front teeth anymore!

Oh, and now my dentist wants me to get braces because ONE of my teeth are crooked.

If William Shakespeare wrote a story about Xbox 360, it'd sound a little like this. Keep in mind that although some of the events are true, this is out of good humor.
Once upon a time, on November 21st, 2005 at 3pm, DDRmaster was waiting patiently in the carriage to go with his father to buy an Xbox 360 at the stroke of midnight. But then, tragedy struck. At 5pm, DDRmaster called Ye Olde Best Purchase Market to see how long the line was, but it was too late. 100 knights were already there and only 10 Xbox 360's were to be divided between them. Flabbergasted, DDRmaster slammed down the phone and cried in his room for 5 hours. His Mother thought, "Ye Olde Emo", and sat down to watch Pioneer Cooking with Emeril Lagase III. At 9pm, he awoke to his father yelling "Quit crying, 'ye lazy peasant, and clean up the rest of the cottage.". DDRmaster then smited his parents for eternity. And to this very day, DDRmaster has yet to get his Xbox 360. He remains in his room, drinking his citrus Sobe grog until this very day, dreaming of having an Xbox 360.

I just got back from Six Flags, it was pretty fun. I rode a roller-coaster and went to the arcade. Now, I had a group but they ended up ditching me for the water rides. So, they asked me if I wanted to play DDR with them, obviously, I said yes. So, I started playing and the next thing I knew, they were gone. Well, that's not really so bad, actually. I ended up spending most of my time playing DDR and wandering around looking at the hilarious expressions of people going off a loop on a roller-coaster. Overall, I spent about $12 for 12 games of DDR (Yeah, they want a dollar. For 3 songs.) plus $6 for drinks and $2 for candy. I met a couple of people at my school (FINALLY) that actually play as good as me. So, we played a lot of the games together. That was about it. On the bus ride home, though, I had SweetTarts and the people in front of me were begging me for them. So, I dropped one in their seat and they fought over it. I repeated this process for about 1/2 an hour. When we got to school, for no reason, there were 2 fire trucks and a paramedic. Reason: None. So hey, I guess the wait was definetely worth it, I finally got to prove that I am as good as I say I am at Dance Dance Revolution. And hey, only 6 days until summer vacation, W00T!  Oh, I got Time Crisis II for PS2, it is so much better than #3. And I'm trying to find an original GunCon for Point Blank, hopefully Game Crazy will have it. (Most likely) I'm looking for Resident Evil: Dead Aim and Point Blank, I'm probably guessing that Game Crazy will have that too. Okay, HOPEFULLY. Anyway, I have a throbbing headache from not having my water bottle with me. Oh, and me feet hurt like... yeah. In light of having played this much DDR in a day, I made the song "A", by DJ Amuro - Which was my most played song today. Well, that's about all. I suppose I better quit rambling now, for those who have read this entire post, I thank you greatly.

First, Half-Life 2: Episode One. MAGNIFICENT. It is easily the best expansion for a game that I have ever  played. And it's only 20 bucks... It has un-paralleled HDR lighting quality... And, it's actually on DVD so I don't have the 6 discs that Half-Life 2 infamously required to install. (Unless you want to use the CD key and download it, taking twice as long...)

 

Part 2: My life in games. Keep in mind that this isn't the timeline of my life, just the time where I was playing games. Parentheses show what my favorite games were at the time.

 

1993: Got NES from garage sale (Duck Hunt, Zapper Gun, and Super Mario 1, 2, and 3.)

1994: Got a 486 computer - Began playing whatever beta games Dad brought from Microsoft (Treasure Island, etc.)

1995: Got a Compaq computer, began playing more games (Fury 3, Hellbender), NES breaks. Long live NES.

2001: Began subscribing to Gameinformer, began buying games for self (Half-Life, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 [GBA])

2002: Got PSone (Dance Dance Revolution Konamix, Time Crisis)

2003: Got Xbox, Subscribed to Xbox Magazine, Got New Computer, began playing DDR on Heavy (DDR Extreme, Halo, Jet Set Radio Future, Midtown Madness)

            “Halo: The Flood” is the second book in the Halo series, written by William C. Dietz, is a science fiction epic taking place over 500 years in the future. There are many settings in the book, but the main one is on an alien structure, Halo, with everything from Tropical to Arctic climates. It starts out with our main character, Master Chief, a cybernetically advanced super soldier coming out of cryosleep upon the space cruiser, the Pillar of Autumn. As he wakes up, he realizes that the ship is being attacked by the Covenant, an alien army made up of several different races unseen on Earth. After he fights his way to an escape pod, he finds himself crash-landing on an alien structure, Halo. He soon finds that this planet-sized structure is actually a super-weapon that will destruct, destroying most of the planets in their universe! In the rising action, he fights across halo to a Covenant cruiser, the Truth and Reconciliation. Inside, he saves his Captain, Keyes, a stubborn yet battle-ready veteran who ends up crashing the Pillar of Autumn on to Halo, only to be taken hostage by the Covenant. From there, he is escorted by his fellow soldiers, the UNSC Marines, to a remote island to find what the Covenant call, “The Silent Cartographer”,  a map room that will lead Master Chief to the control center to deactivate Halo. In the climax, Master Chief travels to a swampy region to investigate the creatures that have been eliminating his Marine squad. Inside, he finds the Flood, a parasite species that possess other creatures to make themselves become even stronger, turning into a near-zombie. As Chief fights his way out, he encounters a cyborg called “343 Guilty Spark”, and it leads him to the control room. Master Chief had found a ‘key’ to deactivate Halo, only to have Guilty Spark steal it so that Halo will self-destruct. In the falling action, betrayed, Chief fights his way out of Halo through rain, snow, and sun. He finds the crashed Pillar of Autumn, where he must take a number of meticulous steps to open the evacuation area in order to take a “Longsword”, or a 2 man fighter-craft, to get off of Halo. In the resolution, Master Chief gets off of Halo in time. But, his battle isn’t over. So, I encourage you all to read “Halo: The Flood” by William C. Dietz, to continue the trilogy to see what’s next!

Yeah, Half-Life 2: Episode One (AKA: Aftermath) comes out on June 1st... I pre-ordered and they gave me 10% off. So, I'm only paying 16.99 for it when it actually comes out... Anyway, they entered me in a raffle so I might be winning one of their Xbox display sets, Xbox and TV included... (Evil laugh)
